Trees are among the most valuable forms of natural capital in our urban environment.

Throughout their lives, they provide essential services to the communities around them — cooling our cities through shade, capturing and storing carbon, filtering air pollution, slowing stormwater runoff, stabilizing soil, supporting biodiversity, and reducing building energy consumption.

Over decades, the cumulative value of these services can reach hundreds of thousands — even millions — of dollars per tree.

Yet when urban trees are removed due to development, storms, disease, or age, this extraordinary material resource is almost always discarded — chipped, burned, or sent to landfill.

We believe this material deserves a more meaningful future.
