These are the woods we typically build with. When ever possible we utilize local wood salvaged from the Southern California Urban Forrests. All woods are FCS (Forest Stewardship Council) certified sustainable harvested timber.

  • Black Walnut

    Black Walnut is a highly respected wood worldwide, and its many different uses can be attributed to its multiple grain patterns and coloring. Walnut can range from white sapwood to dark chocolate brown heartwood with curly or straight grain.

  • White Oak

    America’s classic hardwood has handsome honey-rich hues, and the occasional blond streaked gradation in its grain. White Oak offers a Trinity of Grain appearances. Learn more about the differences.

  • Cherry

    A strong closed grain wood loved for its auburn warmth, and traditional feel.

  • Sycamore

    The color of Sycamore is a range of beautiful light browns to amber-brown tones. When quarter sawn, it produces a very unique grain pattern mixing light and dark tones in a houndstooth pattern.

  • Ash

    A wood with beautiful long grain, tranquil light blond tones, and excellent durability

  • Sapele

    Heartwood is a golden to dark reddish brown. Color tends to darken with age. Besides the common ribbon pattern seen on quartersawn boards, Sapele is also known for a wide variety of other figured grain patterns, such as: pommele, quilted, mottled, wavy, beeswing, and fiddleback.
