Right now, I am deep in an experiment. It sits at the intersection of organic matter and invisible energy. I wanted to know what happened if we stopped looking at timber as a static surface and started listening to it as a living medium.
What does the soul of a piece of White Oak actually sound like? How does the "personality" of Sapele or Teak change the way we experience a moment in a room?
I am currently in the process of manifesting the resources to take this from a raw experiment to a fully realized, dynamic installation. The vision is a space that breathes with the seasons: field recordings, sound baths, the rush of the ocean shared over a meal.
It is an attempt to let the object speak for itself. To let the wood whisper.
I’ve just posted a deep dive into the "how" and "why" of this project—including the first photos of the panels and the tech behind the sound—over on my Substack.
